BaCC Week 6: The Picklethorpe Family
The start of the week saw Arthur and Violet being extremely busy. Violet still had that marriage want locked (yes, after several weeks of gameplay!), and they finally found the time and money to throw down a wedding shindig.
Lots of organising required apparently, trying to contact everyone, ordering a cake that will keep until it arrives in town, asking if they can borrow the arch Felix and Lily used for their wedding...

Brie is stoic in the face of all the hustle and bustle, and keeps to her crayons. She's quite the little artist :)

Wedding time! I like how both groom and bride are in white. The wedding theme is white and yellow, as could be expected of a couple of cheese fanatics.

Arthur: "The arch makes me think of swirly creamcheese. Mmmmm..."
Violet: "Can you take your mind off cheese for half an hour, please?"

Given enough incentive, Arthur certainly can ^^ The ceremony was short but sweet, and applauded heartily by the guests.

The party gravitated towards inside the house. For some reason, playing Mary Mack has evolved into a party game in this town. At least it trumps lecturing kids over what watching television will do with their eyesight, right Rose? Who'd have thought you'd get so old-fashioned one day :)

A couple of stragglers remained outside, including Wensleydale and Freesia Fenwick. Seems like Wensley is getting over his aversion for girls, finally :P

If only you two weren't cousins!

Nate: "Stop thrrroowinggg those looks at my sisterrrrr-in-laaw!"

Nate's very protective of Rose since she fixed up Anna, but he still doesn't 100% trust that she's totally given up her Romance Sim ways. And he definitely doesn't trust Davin, no matter what anyone says about having changed his ways.

Which is later confirmed by a Nate-instigated fight between the two. You can schmooze all you want Davin, but some stains just don't rub off that easily. I don't think Nate and Davin will ever be able to get along, but as long as Davin's jerkiness only comes out around Nate, I can live with that.

Davin: "Have at it, you monstrosity! I knew we could never trust your ilk! You'll be gnawing our heads soon enough, mark my words!"
Lily: "It's a good thing Violet isn't around to see this..."

Liam doesn't seem terribly impressed. Then again, he spent last week meeting werewolves, witches, zombies and sentient robots. I think he's temporarily run out of surprise.

Homelife returns to normal after the wedding. Brie still has a lot to learn, which Violet likes to take care of. She's not a bad parent for being a Pleasure Sim.

Arthur jumps in whenever he gets back from work (one wonders what he does all day at the office? Eat donuts and play darts, probably). This is one of his many adorable potty-training faces. Somehow, he always gets stuck with that particular duty :D

Wensley is growing up into a diligent little boy...

... if a bit of a scaredy cat.

Wensley: "I'm telling you dad, it lives under my bed and makes spooky noises. Especially when I'm tidying up the blankets. Why can't I sleep in the house with you and mum?"
Arthur: "You know there's no such thing as ghosts, Wensley. A lot of kids would be happy to have a little house all to themselves!"
Wensley: "Yeah well... I'm not one of them."

Luckily Wensleydale has his cousins to distract him. Fox and Freesia come over for playdates frequently, accompanied by Flora who has been instructed to keep an eye on the kids.

The first warm spring days are an excellent opportunity for a water balloon fight!

Arthur: "Don't give me that look Wensley, there's plenty of studies that show Grilled Cheese is essential to a healthy development."
Wensley *grumbles*: "I'm sure you're just making that up."
Arthur: "Just eat your Grilled Cheese, son. And try to enjoy it for once, alright?"

It's a good thing Wensley can soon start cooking for himself, cause he looks about ready to stuff that cheese sandwich up Arthur's nose :P

Brie has so far escaped Wensley's cheesey fate. Thankfully Violet scolded Arthur when he tried to leave Brie's bottles out of the fridge. Sour milk is NOT acceptable as early-stage cheese, Arthur!

Not that he means any harm. He loves his daughter just as much as he does his son (even if the latter exasparates him), and it would be lovely if they could have something in common that is so important to him.
He'll be able to introduce her to the world of cheese soon enough anyway, as it's time for her child transitioning.

All grown up, with cake! Even if it's cheesecake, it still counts. I'm reserving judgement until she grows into a teen, but she doesn't look bad :)

Brie is moved into the hobbyshack with Wensleydale, as she's gotten a bit too big to sleep in her parents' bedroom anymore. In order to make the place look a bit cozier, Arthur spent a couple of his days off wallpapering and generally prettifying the room. It looks a lot more like an actual bedroom now.

Wensley and Brie look an awful lot alike. They could be twins :)

Brie: "Dad? Can we have a puppy or a kitten?"
Arthur: "I'm afraid there's no petshops in Riverside Hollow, little cheesemuffin."
Brie: "But the Greengrasses have a dog..."
Arthur: "A dog? More like a wolf! That beast is vicious."
Brie: "But if we had a puppydog, it could protect us from burglars!"
Arthur: "... I'm never going to live down that whole Riverside Burglar fiasco, am I."

Nope, you aren't, Arthur :D

So far for this update, thanks for reading and hope you enjoyed ^^
