He's found a couple of guides on the internet that gave tips on attracting aliens. One of them, by a certain J. Smith, was particularly helpful. He's been searching the heavens every night for a whole week now, trying to signal his distant (in more than one sense) relatives.

The aliens neatly deposited him on the sidewalk in front of his house again, after a long series of experiments and questioning. Teddy didn't mind, they were all scientists together after all, and he got to ask them plenty of questions in return.
His curiosity about his origins was sated, but new questions were already popping up. The aliens were his people as much as sims were, and while he certainly could understand that not every male sim would be happy with suddenly sprouting an alien baby in their belly, he could also understand the aliens' needs of procreation.

He decided that with all his other responsibilities out of the way, his new task in this world had to be helping to establish a stable population of alien hybrids on the planet. Teddy regretted that he had waited until he and his wife were both old and unfertile to stumble upon his new life's work, but that couldn't be helped now.
Besides, he had a daughter. If he could figure out how much of her genetic material was alien, that would give him an idea of how 'watered down' the alien genes got as they were mixed with sims'.
As for establishing a stable population... When the first townies came to Riverside Hollow, he already noticed that one of them must be of alien descent. Maybe he could introduce him to Ivy sometime?

Speaking of Ivy, we arrived at the Babbling household just in time for her adult transitioning birthday. The whole family was invited (Nate and Anna couldn't come because of their responsibilities with their business.)
Rose, you might want to put on some clothes when the family comes over for a party. Just sayin'.

Ivy's all excited :D

Gorgeous, but it's not like we didn't know that already. As you can see, Rajat was in attendance for the birthday, but he slunk off soon afterwards. I guess being in the same room as both of his crushes at once was a bit too much for him.

During the party, Kate and Freesia made it known that they really didn't like eachother. A lot of scowling and threatening went on. It might have had something to do with Freesia calling Kate's scientific research 'boring and stuffy'. It might have had something to do with Kate calling Freesia 'childish and selfish' for trying to steal Ivy's boyfriend from her.
Whatever the reason, they can't stand the sight of eachother, and have no trouble expressing their feelings.

Teddy made use of the birthday party to introduce Ivy to Bo Nadhira, the only other alien hybrid in town. He doesn't really seem to be Ivy's type, but she's polite enough to him and agrees on a few dates so they can get to know eachother.
One bolt isn't normally enough for me to try and get two sims together, but we'll see if these two can work it out. Ivy adores her dad and believes he has her best interests at heart, so if he arranged this match for her, she'll give it her best shot.

Ivy is simply swamped with work, as a flu epidemic is still going around the town like a forest fire. She spends most of the day doing house visits, making sure her patients are getting enough rest and fluids.
She has asked Felix Fenwick for funds so she can build a small medical facility, but so far the town's budget doesn't allow it yet. Her father has promised her that he'll look into adding an office to their house, so she can at least store the most important equipment there.

The week passes swiftly, and soon it's sunday and time for the weekly Lovelace family get-together. The Babblings own the longest table, and therefore get to host it most of the time.

Rose: "We found this on our doorstep yesterday morning. I think it's from that weird Gypsy woman who skulks around the town sometimes. Anyway, you're the one with the magical knowledge here, so maybe you could check it out?"
Lily: "Is that what I think it is? Are you sure you want to give it to me, and not use it yourself?"

Rose: "We had one of those when we first moved into the house. I don't think there's really anything Teddy or me could wish for. You could probably make much better use of it than us."
Lily: "Well, thank you! It'll be really interesting to observe the workings of a genie first-hand."

Felix demonstrating how he's so succesful with the ladies. The Babbling's pokernights are friendly and strictly for chips, unlike the games that are played in the Four Corners, during which real simoleons switch hands.

Ivy and Bo are having a crack at this poker thing as well, on the gentle insistence of Teddy. They've become good friends and actually do have some things in common (both being Knowledge sims), but so far, no sparks. The only guy Ivy really seems interested in is Rajat, and he's been avoiding her lately...
Next up: Nate and Anna move from one stage in their lives to another, and acquire a new housemate.
