BaCC Week 8: The Greengrass Family
Last week saw the birth of Emily, Cordelia and Victor's daughter. Ever since she joined the family, Emily's pretty much taken the front stage for everyone involved. Everyone except for Hannah, but it's not like anyone cares about her.

Grandad Parker takes care of the tot when her parents are out. Cordelia has her new business to deal with (Greengrass Groceries, the freshest fruit and veg in town!), while Victor has taken over as the town's teacher after Myra passed away without making it to Education Minister.

Time for Emily's birthday! I do wonder how her parent's genetics will have mixed...

Not bad :) Looks like she inherited Victor's nose, and the Greengrass colouring of black hair and green eyes.

Rose Lovelace has become the town's official mechanic, and gets summoned whenever anything needs fixing. Once services are unlocked she'll be officially become the resident repair woman, but the question is whether she'll stay alive long enough for that to happen. For now, she's fixed up the Greengrass's shower for free.

Hannah's birthday was (obviously) ignored by all, but she managed to feel accomplished about her transitioning into adulthood all the same. Ever wondered what she's been doing all that time offscreen, while her family got all the attention?

She's been devouring every single book the household has to offer. Her Film & Literature enthousiasm is already maxed out, and she frequently walks around with her nose in a book.

Add a decent set of creativity skill points to the mix, and you get Riverside Hollow's first writer! Hannah's been working on a novel about her neglected childhood, and hopes the royalties will be enough to finally move out of the Greengrass Homestead.

It just doesn't feel like home anymore, without her mother gone. At least Myra occasionally showed her some attention. Sometimes she likes to pretend that her mother is still watching over her, somehow. At least now she's not too busy to listen to her.

Myra's ghost has been hanging around the homestead a lot lately. Not that she makes a nuisance of herself or anything, on the contrary, she's been great at helping out with the housework. So far noone has really noticed that she's around.
But sometimes she just looks at her still-living husband, and smiles. It's a patient little smile, a bit melancholy, and it gives off the impression that she's waiting for someone.

I guess he finally arrived.

Parker: "Sweet coconuts!"

Victor: "I know your stepfather has just died and all that, but what say we try and make the place a little less empty?"
Cordelia: "Who's the Family sim here, now?"

One day, at breakfast.

Cordelia: "Hannah... I've been meaning to talk to you for a while now."

Hannah: "Ye-es?"

Cordelia: "Victor and I have been trying for a baby for a while now, and I think we finally have a brother or sister on the way for Emily. But... this place is getting a little crowded, and with another baby on the way... Maybe it would be more, um, comfortable for you to find lodgings somewhere else?"

Hannah: "Are you kicking me out?"
Cordelia: "Kicking out is such a harsh word. Victor and I just wouldn't want you to..."
Hannah: "Save it, sister. I've heard enough."

Luckily Fox is there to help soften the blow a little bit. Hannah's technically somewhat older than him, but his calm and collected nature often makes him seem older than his years. Hannah, on the other hand, is a little ball full of anxiety, always hovering over the edge of aspiration failure.

Fox: "You could stay with us for a while. I'm sure mum and dad won't mi- UFH!"
Hannah: "THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!"

After some more of Fox' peptalk, things don't seem so dark anymore, and Hannah allows herself to be positive about the whole situation. At least she won't have to be around her hag of a sister anymore.

Victor: "Are you leaving? Have a good trip! Write us a postcard or something!"

This is so going to get into her book, though.
