The Buttons have worked hard through autumn to remodel their house. It wasn't originally built to accomodate more than two or three sims, as the Greengrasses moved out when their family grew larger instead of adding to the existing structure.
The house is now comfortably sized for a family of four, and painted in Kate's favourite shade of blue.

Twins Ryan and Roxanne sneakily had their birthday while I wasn't looking. No cake for you then! Ryan seems to look even more like his dad Liam as he gets older. He's got a very prim and proper personality: Neat 9, Outgoing 8, Active 9, Serious 2, Nice 7. A right little model student, if I'm any judge.

Roxanne has mixed features of both her parents, and Liam's gorgeous dusky-dark skintone. She'll be a stunner when she grows older, I have no doubts. Roxanne has a very different personality from her twin brother. Where he is a little perfectionist, she's more of a firestarter. She's a lot less neat, and really not very friendly at all, with only one nice point. I've no idea where that came from, Liam and Kate are both pretty nice.

Roxanne: "Mister, I have to ask: what the heck are you doing in our house? We don't even know you!"
Warren: "Oh, uhm... *cough*keepinganeyeonyourdadforFlora*cough*"
Roxanne: "Get. Out."

One of Roxanne's favourite pastimes is teasing her brother mercilessly.
Ryan: "Rooooox! Stop it!"

Roxanne: "Whatcha gonna do, llama-face? You gonna cry like the little baby you are?"
Ryan: "Mooooooom! Rox doesn't stop bothering me!"
Kate (offscreen): "Roxie, be nice to your brother!"
Roxanne: "I'm just toughening him up, mom!"

They're not always in eachother's hair, though. Both being very active, they spend a lot of time outside building snowmen, having snowball fights, going iceskating on the frozen river (despite their mother's protestations that the ice might not be thick enough) and generally exploring the surrounding area.
They've come across Freesia Fenwick on one of their trips, and since then she's been taking them along on her hikes, travelling deep into the forests surrounding the settlement.

Liam: "So kids, how was your day? Did you get up to anything nice?"

Roxanne: "Freesia took us to this wicked stone formation up past the Greengrass Homestead! She said that a loooong time ago, some other sims must have lived in the same area, and they built that place. We've been digging around, and we found a ton of bones and stuff! Freesia reckons that the sims that lived here must have practised simmish sexyfire."
Kate: "Aheheh... I think you mean... sacrifice?"
Liam: "I think I'm going to have to have some words with your friend Freesia..."

Kate has been hit by the flu that is still wrecking the town repeatedly. Not very surprising perhaps, if you look at how she wanders around in the middle of winter. At least put on some shoes, or something!

With Liam being out of the house so much now he's officially investigating the Withergrasses, Kate has been feeling pretty lonely. She gets that to infiltrate whatever organisation they're fronting, Liam will have to get as close to them as possible, and therefore spend as much time with Stephen and his friends as he can. She just hopes that he's careful. She doesn't like the look of that wannabe goth boy at all.
To counter the loneliness, Kate has been getting more active in the town's social scene. She's been inviting over a small group of women around her age in the evenings, for a cup of coffee and some friendly talk.
She's closest to Cordelia Greengrass, and they've already arranged playdates between their kids for when Emily gets a bit older.
So far for Week 8! Which means that Year 2 of Riverside Hollow has come to its end. Stay tuned for the Start of Year 3 overview!
