Week 9: The Johnson Family
Benjamin S. Johnson, Joshua Dearheart and Adam Stibbons have started settling into Riverside Hollow quite happily. Several folks were nice enough to help them with building a temporary house, so they don't have to camp out on the grass.

Benjamin brought his work with him: giving financial advice. Sort of.

Benjamin: "... prince from Al Simhara. I have recently come into my inheritance, but I need your help with..."

Joshua has his work set out for him as well: trying to woo as many ladies as he can. First victim beauty he comes across: Riana Quisenberry.

Joshua: "Hey there, babe. I can see we share the same colourscheme. How about we share something more as well?"

(Does anyone know where to get that outfit that Fox is wearing in the background? I can't find it anywhere, and it's driving me crazy!)

These guys really are colour coordinated, down to the panties/boxershorts.

Nice going, Joshua! Not that Riana needed much convincing, being a Romance sim and all. Still, bedding a lady on your first day in town should hopefully be the start to a fruitful romancing career.

Joshua: "Hey dude! What are you wearing?"

Adam: "Neat huh? Flora got me a job delivering the town's mail. Bills and things, you know. I've been trying to muscle in on the newspaper delivery, but the kid that does it is holding onto it with hand and teeth. Flo says he's not even officially employed or paid, or anything. Just gets up at 7am every day to bring around the newspaper. How weird is that?"

The guys adopted one of the stray wolves that kept hanging around the house, begging to be played with. For some reason, all the wolves in the area seem to be very docile and friendly towards sims. They would wonder about that, if they gave it half a thought. So far though, the new lupine addition to the family has simply moved in as if sims go around adopting wolves all the time.

Seeing as Adam was mostly over at Flora's place making goo-goo eyes at her, and Benjamin kept busy with his email scams, Joshua was elected to go out and buy provisions at the Greengrass Grocery Store.

Joshua: "I come carrying supplies! No need to thank me, keeping you alive is just one of many duties in my life."
Benjamin: "I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the sound of your ego straining the walls."

While Joshua and Riana have a lot of fun together, they both agreed that it's nothing permanent or in any way binding. He's already got his eye on another charming neighbour: Ivy Babbling.

She likes his flowers well enough...

... but that's about all she likes about him, apparently.

Joshua: "Awkwaarrrdd..."

He has more success with the town's local airhead, Petronella Browne.

Petronella: "...so it was like, you know, so awful. He just burned to a crisp. Like, we were all so stunned! And he'd promised to show us how he did some of the things he did, and now I'll just never..."
Joshua: "Less of the talking, more of the smooching."

The reason Joshua is so successful with the ladies lies firmly with the fact that he's an aspiring musician. What girl doesn't love to be serenaded with self-written lovesongs, or appreciates a man who can handle an instrument?

Especially if they look this good doing it.

On Joshua's insistence, the friends went out to the town's only evening entertainment location: the Four Corners. Looks like Joshua hasn't given up on Ivy just yet. Don't let Bo see you, he's pretty buff for a scientist.

Benjamin: "And in just 6 months, you folks could see your investment doubled! There's really no risks involved, all you have to do is just make over a cheque in my name, and I sort out the details. Come see me if you want to sign up people! I'll be here all night!"

After Benjamin got boo'd off the stage, he took over the bar (without Nate, who was arranging the pokergame upstairs, knowing about it). A particularly lovely townie by the name of Noor Basara caught his eye almost immediately. He eavesdropped on her conversation with Liam Button about how she'd just moved here from the big city, trying to pick up some conversation hooks.

Benjamin: "You just moved here from Sim City? That's where I come from! Small world, huh?"
Noor: *giggle*

They hit it off pretty well, under the watchful eye of Liam Button, who mostly stood moping in the corner next to the coatrack.

Meanwhile, Adam had slipped Joshua a couple of simoleons to play something slow for him and Flora to dance to. He'd been planning this for a while, and tonight seemed the perfect occasion for it.

Adam: "Flora Fenwick..."

Adam: "... there's something I've been meaning to ask you."

Adam: "Would you marry me?"
Flora: *squee!*

Benjamin kept heartfarting over Noor during Adam's proposal. Way to back up your buddy there, Benj. A pretty eventful evening for all of them, and they went home tired but happy.

Joshua's performance at the Four Corners paid off, as the next day townie Erica Moretti dropped by for a private listening session.

Joshua: "Sooo... my guitar's upstairs, if you want me to play anything."
Erica: *blushes* "That'd be nice, I'd like that."

The end of the week found Adam contemplating his bright-looking future with Flora. They'd talked about it, and agreed that they'll be moving in together as soon as possible. That would mean giving up his bachelor life with his friends, but he feels he's ready for the big step.

Explaining things to Benjamin and Joshua could be a bit more tricky, though...
