Map of SimNation
A little something I worked on in between all the other stuff I've got going on. I'm still trying to puzzle out how all the Maxis hoods would fit together in the Megahood (or in general), and I think this is my best try yet. The shape of the coastlines and streets is true how the neighbourhoods are in my game. Sim City is a bit small in this version, but I got sick of drawing roads. You get the idea anyway :p
The brown areas are mountain ranges, the sandy bit is, well, desert.

It's rather big, so check it out behind the cut :)

:O I love it. Just curious, what seasons do you set in the different hoods?

Thanks ^^

Riverblossom Hills: Spring Fall Winter Winter
Pleasantview, Veronaville, Bluewater Village and Belladonna Cove: Spring Summer Fall Winter
Desiderata Valley: Spring Summer Summer Fall
Strangetown: Summer Summer Summer Summer
The universities: Fall Fall Fall Fall because I'm a hack like that ;)

Cool, not too different from my setup. :) I'll have to borrow this map for my personal reference, I really like it.

This is great! I was very interested to see what kind of coast layout you had as I am trying to piece these hoods together geographically in my mind too :) But I didn't take into consideration the street layout - wow! I like how you worked in all of the Universities too!! Very cool :)

Thanks :) It's not really 'ideal' yet (I'm such a perfectionist in these matters), but it took several hours to get as far as this, so I'm letting it stand as is until I get the urge to improve on it.

The Pleasantview/Belladonna Cove/Bluewater Village placement is especially tricky, and currently Pleasantview has a bit of road going into nowhere still. Ah well. I'm glad you like it :)

Oh wow, it looks amazing. I really like your solution for the desert area, with the mountain ridge (that's a mountain ridge isn't it?) separating it from the lusher regions. You've even got (most of) the neighbourhoods with similar-sounding names together! ^^

Yeah, that's a mountain ridge :) The idea is all the rain travels inland over seas, and is too heavy to get high enough and cross the mountains, so it all falls before it can reach the area behind them. I paid attention in geography, me :D
Glad you like it :)

Wow, that looks great! I really like how you have Desiderata Valley isolated from the rest of the 'hoods. That's how I pictured it too.

That is really cool! It's neat to see them all situated on a map, and their placement really does make sense to me. Great job!
