Last week Arthur was floored by a tummybug, and he still hadn't recovered. I was starting to get rather worried - if Sims don't get healthy they can actually die from foodpoisoning. So I kept him inside and rested him as much as possible, but Arthur gets bored quickly so I had to haul him out of the bathtub or off the couch where he was playing quite frequently.
He only settled down when he found out his good friends Nate and Teddy Babbling had been victims of a brutal burglary a few days before. Arthur resolved to Do Something About This, as soon as he was healthy again. What if people came around and stole his grilled cheese sandwiches? And Mr. Nate already has had a hard, uhm, unlife, and surely doesn't need this kind of let down on top of it.

Yes, Arthur is ready to Do Something About This.






... AFTER he gets better. You're staying in bed until the popup says you're better, boyo. I'm not risking your life just because you want to get out there playing the white knight for everyone.



Arthur: "But staying inside is boring! What if there's another burglary? NO CHEESE CAN BE SAFE!"



A couple of days later Arthur was healthy again, and resolutely set about patrolling the town at night to keep it safe. He hasn't thought much yet about what he'll do if he catches a burglar. Offer them a grilled cheese sandwich and try to make them see the error of their ways, I suppose.

Arthur: "Ugh, this thing itches!"

I can't help that the only uniform the town had laying about was the old uniform from Myra's father. Just be glad the moths haven't gotten into it yet.



A Man of the Law can't go around dodging taxes, so Arthur's the first one to ship off his weekly contribution to the town. It's not much, but he hopes Felix will be able to use it. Maybe if they save up enough, he'll be able to get a patrol car. That'd be awesome. He can see himself now, racing across the dirt roads of town, in hot pursuit of a fiendish criminal.



This is the town's mail lady, by the way. Mail in town is literally delivered by elves :P



Felix and Lily dropped by with some happy news! Yep, Lily got preggers on her wedding night/morning :)  I forgot to take any pictures of it in the Fenwick house, but she gets to waddle all around the hood until next week anyway.



Arthur: "Hey there little one! When you get out of there, Uncle Arthur is going to introduce you to the bestest cheeses!"



According to Arthur, it's never to early to introduce a kid to the wonders of grilled cheese, not even when still in utero.



The town has electricty nowadays, but that doesn't mean Arthur has any funds to buy, say, a TV just yet. He'll have to make do with playing pirate in the tub until he's saved up a bit.



The running water bit isn't all it's cracked up to be, either.



Another day, another visit from pregnant ladies. I'm starting to suspect Myra and Lily of coming over just to satisfy their food cravings by letting Arthur fry up some grilled cheese for them. Not that he'd mind. The more Sims share in his love for cheese, the happier he is. It's so easy to keep him in the platinum constantly just by having some friends over and cooking for them.



Violet Lovelace has been coming over quite a lot lately as well. There's a lot of friendly hugging going on between them, and I'm tentatively hoping ACR will take things a bit further, but so far no joy. (I'm letting ACR control my Sims' relationships, so they pick their lovers themselves. Arthur doesn't seem very interested in any of the girls - or any of the boys for that matter, so far.)



Training to be able to catch those dastardly cheesethieves, if he ever comes across any....



... and Davin teaching him a couple of moves, for when he's actually caught one. Arthur is the only Sim in town that Davin is actually nice to (aside from his family). Arthur just likes everyone indiscriminately and is as impressionable as wet clay, so maybe it's not that surprising that they manage to get along. Either way, this sort of redeems Davin for the time being. If he was nasty to Arthur as well, I might have let Lily cook up a more... permanent solution.
