Liam is a budding journalist, sent to the village on an assignment for the SimCity Chronicle. He's to stay with the settlers for a year, doing interviews and reporting back on their successes and pitfalls. Liam's absolutely thrilled to have gotten the job, and he plans to set up a local newspaper alongside his work for the SimCity Chronicle. He's heard many strange things about the settlement, and is determined to find out about every last one of them.

Kate Button

Kate is fresh out of college and her parents' house. Not that the latter have quite caught up with the fact that their daughter has eloped with a (slightly) older man yet, or that she's gone along with him on his job assignment somewhere out in the sticks. Kate loves the adventure of it all though, and had a great time so far exploring the forests, meadows and streams they came across on their journey to the settlement. She's set her eyes on studying the river that flows close to the settlement, and dreams of discovering unknown species of fish and crustaceans.
