BaCC Week 5: The Greengrass Family
Schoolwork is finally catching up with my free time as well, so the updating schedule is probably going to be all over the place for the next few weeks. Sorry bout that, but such is life etc :) I'll probably be quite slow replying to comments and things for a while as well, so don't take it personally or anything ^^
This was a very, very busy household to play, so I only got to take pictures every now and again. Not much of a plot for this one, I'm afraid :)

Myra Greengrass and her brood + fiancé have finally managed to move to better arable land, and set to work building the farm that has come to be known as the Greengrass Homestead. Myra's family is matrilinial, meaning the husbands take on their wife's name, and she intends to leave the farm to her daughter Cordelia when the farming work becomes too heavy for her.
The farm so far consists out of a small farmhouse, a garden plot, a little orchard and a duckpond which they've stocked with fish from the river.

Myra making a start on the spring crops. I had to use a couple of mortgage shrubs so she could afford the new place, but she should be able to pay them off soon enough.

Stephen had been rolling wants to get a puppy consistently since he was a child, so with their much larger living space I finally caved in and let him have one. The little bundle of fluff is the offspring of two of the village wolves, and seeing as there's no petshop yet, Stephen probably just found her out in the woods somewhere and decided to bring her home.

Stephen: "I shall love her, and hug her, and call her Geo... I mean, Akela. Who's a good little evil minion puppy?"

Stephen and Hannah have been bonding over their love of fishing. I'm considering this good progress, as before Stephen only really was interested in hanging out with Cordelia. He's such a shut-in, but maybe becoming a teen and rolling Popularity as his aspiration has given him a new outlook on life.

Hannah: "I got one!" :D

I didn't want Myra to take out too big a mortgage, so the inside of the house is very sparsely furnished for the time being. Here's the family all gathered together for dinner, plus one of the townie teens that Cordelia brought home from school. She seems very excited to meet some new people :)
Cordelia seems to be quite annoyed about Stephen being his own scowling bastard-ey self in company. No wonder nobody ever comes home with her twice.

Myra and Parker being precious <3 It's pretty obvious who wears the pants in this relationship.

Weeds still make Cordelia ANGRY!

Akela popped from puppy to wolf in the middle of the vegetable plot. She looks much more like a suitable pet for Stephen now.

She seems to take after her pack leader in character, as one of the village wolves who dropped by was greeted by a lot of snarling.

Things got from bad to worse, and they actually started fighting! I'd never seen pets do that before oO Akela resoundingly kicked the visiting wolf's furry butt, and seemed to look quite pleased at having defended her master's stronghold against invaders.

And just like Stephen, she's harmless and loving towards the rest of the pack/family.

Stephen and Parker still don't really see eye to eye, but at least they've come to a silent agreement to tolerate eachother's presence. Occasionally they even seem to get along, though both mostly evade the other's company.

Stephen: "Haha, what do you think of THAT one, old man?"
Parker: "Who are you calling old, young whippersnapper?"

With Cordelia close to becoming an adult, Myra has been accosting her with advice and instructions for when she'll be taking over the farm.

Myra: "...so you better plant those during the summer, as they can't stand the late spring frosts. And for the eggplants... Delia, are you listening honey?"
Cordelia: "Ofcourse mum..." Will she EVER stop going on about those damn vegetables?! I've been planting them since I was a kid!

Felix has been over a lot after work as well, to discuss politics with Parker, his aide.

Felix: "I've got some great ideas about another promotional campaign! Just you wait, you'll love this."
Parker: "Excellent! You staying over for dinner? Myra's doing bass with squash tonight, fresh from the pond."
Felix: "Doooon't mind if I do!"

Two more townie teens that came along with Cordelia and Stephen after school. The blond's Zachary, while the guy giving him a disdainful look is Rajat. (I love Rajat's facial features, can't wait to get him playable at some point :3)

Due to how hectic this household is to play (farming and skilling and homework and two working adults and a dog/wolf and... argh!) Cordelia turned into an adult without cake or a party :(  She seems a bit wistful about having missed out on that, but at least she's still as gorgeous as she was as a teen.

Stephen and Cordelia have neglected getting their skills up, so I had them sit down for some cerebral exercise.

Stephen: "How to make friends and influence people? Hmmm, this sounds interesting..."

Some random scenes from life on the Greengrass Homestead :)

Cordelia seems to be quite attracted to this gentleman she met. They've only got one bolt together though, so I'm keeping an eye open on different possible suitors for Delia.

And to close off this update, I give you a pic of Stephen grinning like a cheshire cat.

Stephen: "Yeah, Lily? I think we should get together sometime. I think we've got a lot to talk about..."

It has gone by quite fast, even though my sims have double the lifespan! (I'm so glad I used that mod)

I think any aspiration can be approached from the positive or negative side. I usually take the positive side, it'll be really interesting to play it the other way for once >:D
