Bit of a Public Service Announcement before we get to the goodies :) I am probably going on a hiatus from today onwards. I've got exams to concentrate on, after those the boyfriend is coming over to stay here for a while as he looks for jobs. I've managed to snag myself some vacationwork which regretably will see me getting up at 6am and coming home around 6pm, and depending on whether I pass this year or not (and this is by no means certain yet, as I've had a crappy schoolyear) I might have to start preparing for my move to the UK. Lots of stuff going on, in other words!
Note that I did say *probably*. I might find time for some Sims blogging, I might not. At any rate, the crazy update schedule I've had for the past month will most likely be a thing of the past. I'll be around - I just have no idea how much, as it all depends on outside factors that I just don't know yet.
Anyways, on with the motley. I've prepared a little parting gift for you all: my Megahood terrains all packaged up and ready to use.
A few caveats before we start.
- I have every EP up to and including Mansions & Gardens. This means you will need these as well if you want to play the neighbourhoods provided.
- The neighbourhood decoration uses a lot of custom content. I have bundled it into a single folder because tracking everything I use down would be a nightmare, and downloading everything individually would be as well. You can still use the hoods without custom content, but you'll get a lot of random buildings and rocks replacing the objects that aren't in your game. If you're fine with that, carry on. Otherwise, get the CC.
At the very least, get Criquette's entire collection. Also highly recommended are
nimi4 's Sky Objects,
psychosims ' stuff, and CuriousB's converted TS3 rabbit holes.
DOWNLOAD NEIGHBOURHOOD OBJECTS
- These hoods were generated with clean templates, so they don't contain any townies. None of the stealthhoods have been added to these hoods yet, but those will generate with your version of the templates when you first play the hood. They also don't include any lots.
- The hoods are labelled N003 through to N010. Please make sure you do not already have neighbourhoods with any of these numbers in your neighbourhood folder. In the unlikely event that you want to replace one of your hood with one of mine and they both have the same number, change mine (and all its contents) to a random number, like N345 or something, before you drop it into the neighbourhood folder.
- The hoods shouldn't cause any problems in your game, but I'm not responsible for any BFBVFS that might occur if you use them. Back up, back up, back up!
What can you do with these hoods?
- Provided you have the same EP's as me (everything up to and includingMansions&Gardens), you can put them in your neighbourhoods folder and play them.
- Using Mootilda's HoodReplace, you can use these as a template to copy onto your existing hoods. I think that you can still copy the terrain if you do not have all EP's. (Just place for example N005 in the neighbourhood folder, run HoodReplace, remove N005. No need to start up the game.) However, please back up any hood before you try to run HoodReplace! I am not responsible for anything that gets messed up during this process, so please be careful and sensible and make backups.
- You can use the SC4 terrains provided as any other SC4 terrain, just plop them in the corresponding folder and have at it.
On to the goodies!
