BaCC Week 7: The Picklethorpe Family  
 The Picklethorpes finally had enough cash at hand to fulfill Violet's dream of owning her own clothing store. It's only a very small tailoring shop at the moment, but Violet's got big dreams for the place. 

Welcome to Sew Far Sew Good!





Violet does everything herself in her shop, from sales...




... to working out how that damn cash register works. 


 
With Violet working all hours at her new shop, Arthur has taken over most of the child-rearing duties after his work hours. As a result, the Picklethorpe children finally learned how to do their homework, but Arthur's been stagnating in his career and is even in danger of being fired, as he's been late to work quite a lot. Looks like Riverside Hollow is going to have to content itself with having a geriatric Captain Hero, if they manage to get one at all.


Wensleydale: "Thank goodness, this will be the last grilled cheese sandwich I eat for the rest of my life!"


 
It sure will be, as Wensley finally grew up into a teen :) His dad doesn't seem overly impressed. Wensleydale rolled Family for his aspiration, and fittingly wants to be a Celebrity Chef when he grows up. 
 
Personality: Neat 10, Outgoing 10, Lazy 2, Serious 3, Nice 10

 
He celebrated by cooking his very first meal: a basic spaghetti bolognese. 

 
Arthur: "I really don't see why anyone would want to eat anything other than grilled cheese. Mmmm-mmmmm."
 
You still have a ton of grilled cheese sandwiches to eat before you hit the lifetime platinum, Arthur. Stop talking about grilled cheese and start cramming them. 

 
Brie has been discovering her artistic side. Her OTH is Arts and Crafts, just like her mom. If she stays at it, I might let her become a full-time artist, unless she rolls an achievable LTW in a career.

 
Violet's starting to dress her age more and more. I actually like her grown up look a lot, better than the pink-streaked party girl she used to be. That was ages ago, you guys... where did all that time go?

 
She and Arthur are still totally into each other. The scarce moments where they are both at home, ACR has the tendency to monopolise them for a while.

 
Wensley is showing a romantic streak as well, and has been trying to woo the blonde Erica. Not a lot of success so far, though.

 
Party time! The adults in the family are invited over to celebrate Arthur's birthday. I often forget that Violet, Lily and Rose are sisters, and that more than half of the kids in Riverside Hollow are actually related to each other. Bit of bad planning on my part there.

Arthur: "Sweet gorgonzola! My back!"

Arthur does look as cute as an elder as he did as an adult!
I also had to look twice to recognize Violet! The adult look suits her though :)

He is quite adorable as an elder, if a bit dotty ^^ Violet's grown up look is great, but it reminds me of the party girl she used to be, and what all the settlers were like way back when they first started out... *sniff*

Violet and Arthur are so sweet together!

I ended up having to spawn some teenage townies as it just seemed so many of my teens were related. Although somehow I've even got to the point where sims have the same last name but don't recognise each other as family.

I think the game only recognises first cousins, afaik. I'm getting through my teen townie pool as well, I only had about 6 to start out with I think.

Sew Far Sew Good (how could you) looks adorable! Very cozy. Aren't the clothing racks and jewellery stands a stretch on the rules? I don't really care if people stick to them all the time, I'm just curious. ...wouldn't it be awesome if sims could craft jewellery, by the way?
Did Wensley roll that LTW himself, or is it your doing? This is too funny.
Look at Arthur in his special forces outfit! He looks so competent. I like Violet's makeover, too, suits her more, I think. She always seemed very responsible for a pleasure sim.
Oh no, not Arthur! :( Even if he does look just as precious as an elder... I'm going to miss your settlers.

I am the punmeister, bwahahahaha!

The clothing racks/jewellery stand are just there for show. They're not marked as for sale, same with the deco in the Pottery Barn. It'd be so awesome if Sims could craft jewels from random shit they dug up, or something. Like... comb the beach, find some shells, make a shell necklace!

Wensley had some help from higher up with his LTW ^^ It was too fitting to give him Celeb Chef when he rolled family.

Arthur and Violet were the babies of the settlers, and now even they are growing old D: (You should see Artie in his cap'n Hero outfit as an elder. Larf.)

Very pleased with Wensley as well, his parents have quite clashing genetics (long vs short face) so it could have been a lot worse :) He's kinda cute, in a chinny sort of way.

Arthur looks strangely hot as an elder. Violet's new look is beautiful. It makes her actually look kinda younger, imho.

Also, gotta love Wensley's "appropriate" outfit for his father's birthday :P

Haha, Wensley got that sleeping outfit standard when he grew into a teen, and I love to see him swan about in it so he got to keep it :D I'm glad he managed to sneak it into one of the pictures (I hadn't noticed!)
