BaCC Week 5: The Fenwick Family
This week started off with a happy occasion for the Fenwicks, as Fox and Freesia got to celebrate their toddler birthdays. The Fenwicks' life is pretty uneventful nowadays, with Felix busy at work and Lily crafting pottery when she's not looking after the kids. Felix takes over the childrearing when he gets home from work so Lily gets a break as well, which means that he hasn't had a whole lot of time to get those skillpoints in that he needs to advance in the Politics career. He wouldn't have it any other way though, as he loves his kids and is more than happy to spend time with them.

The twins even got a cake! Both of them :) (Disregard Fox' smelly diaper, I sure did)

Fox and Freesia turned out really cute, to the surprise of absolutely noone. I'm hoping they both have Felix' nose, though it's a bit early to tell :) Freesia looks a lot like her sister Flora did when she was little, so I hope they'll differ enough facial-structure wise once she grows up.

I always tend to put down different toddler toys, so my kids can autonomously choose what skills they want to work on. Freesia gravitated towards the charisma bunny, while Fox was all set to find out once and for all which block goes in which hole.

You do know she's just going to throw up all over you again, right Lily? Like she did the other five times before? I know you can just cast Cleanius Corpus afterwards, but it still has to be a pretty awful experience.

The routine Felix and Lily have fallen into means that the kids hardly ever get to see their dad when he's not all wolfed out and furry. I suppose by now they find it very odd whenever he changes into his bald, pinkish form.
Don't the kids look just like furry little cubs in those pajamas? ^^

Flora doesn't get a whole lot of time with her parents, as they're constantly so busy, so shared meals are to be cherished. I'm not sure why she's talking about sports here, as she has pretty much no interest in it. She prefers to play with the chessboard that Felix had come over from the closest city to work on his logic skills.

While Lily loves her kids and is happy to be a mum, she's starting to look forward to when the toddlers grow up and can be shipped off to school during the day. She's a Popularity Sim after all, and she misses the social contacts she had before getting tied down. She'd also like to make a start opening her own business to sell the pottery she crafts, but right now she just doesn't have the time.

Parker Greengrass (yep, he took on Myra's surname) came over to offer his help to Felix.

Parker: "I'm sure I could be useful in some way, so uhm, let me know if there's anything I can do for you."
Felix: "Did Myra put you up to this? Cause you know, you really don't have to..."
Parker: "Oh no! No no, but she certainly did inspire me. She looks up to all you do for the town and all that, so, uhm..." *fidgets*

Oh Parker, could you possibly become any more adorable? I think not.

As it happens, Felix has recently made it to State Assembly Person, and he has been thinking about getting someone to help him out with all the political work. He agrees to take on Parker as his aide, and the two men spend the rest of the afternoon getting to know eachother and dividing the work between them. Parker gets stuck with all the paperwork, but he doesn't mind. He gets along with Felix really well, and by the evening they're already friends, popping Felix back into Gold aspiration after he'd been feeling a bit low for a while.

Parker even got himself muscled into staying over for dinner by Lily, who wouldn't take no for an answer.

Flora: "I know the mister with the beard! He came to pick up Miss Myra from school one day and they... *stagewhisper* did smoochies!"

Taking care of twins and making sure they learn all their skills is pretty tough, even with a parent tagteam. Most of the week was spent in a struggle to keep everyone's motives up, teach the tots and try to keep up with work and pottery related business. Poor Flora had to do her damndest to get someone to help her out with her homework, and when she managed to snag someone they'd often amble off halfway through to go to bed or have a shower.

She doesn't resent the twins though, and actually spends quite a bit of time playing with them. Peekaboo is a big favourite :)

Of course I'd seen this interaction in the start up movie, but I've never had this happen in my game before! Lily was a bit too slow getting Freesia her bottle, so she decided that she was fed up waiting and snagged Fox's, who munched his own arm in distress.

Sunday is Town Gathering day, which means the whole town, including Davin. Felix made him promise to be on his best behaviour and leave Nate alone though. He seemed to comply for most of the evening, mostly taking the opportunity to spend some more time with his kids.

Felix: "Do me a favour, darling?"
Lily: "What is it?"
Felix: "Go and talk to Davin for a bit for me. He's resenting me right now because I put him in a headlock earlier, making him swear he'd keep the peace. He's not had a great time lately and I think he's pretty lonely, living all by himself..."
Lily: "You do realise you're asking me to go and make friendly with the guy who spent our first weeks here tormenting me, right?"
Felix: "Come on Lils, aren't you  the Good Witch of Love and Sparkly Things? For me? Please?"
Lily: "Oh, fine..."

To Lily's surprise, Davin seems to be quite happy to talk to someone who isn't related to him, for once. As long as she doesn't give him the time to do anything nasty, he's not a bad conversationalist, and while they didn't exactly ended up liking eachother, they did manage to drag their relationship levels out of the negatives. Not bad Lily, way to prove you're the bigger woman around here.

Oh grow up Teddy, they're just dancing. *rolls eyes*

Lily: "Strange... I'm feeling like someone just walked over my grave."
Stephen: *looms*

That's it for the Fenwicks this week, thanks for reading and hope you enjoyed it :)

That's so fitting. "Keep your friends close and your enemies [uncomfortably] closer," right?

I realize I made a typo. I meant to say I'm enjoying watching this grow.

And then I posted in the wrong place. Ignore the deleted comment, sorry. I'm really scatterbrained today.

Don't worry about it :)

Or perhaps: 'Keep everyone uncomfortably closer, as it's hilarious to watch them freak out'.
